Sounds too good to be true? Here's why it isn't.
This isn't a loophole or a grant. It's how Georgia Medicaid is designed to work.
It's part of Georgia Medicaid
Georgia's Medicaid waiver programs, including CCSP and SOURCE, pay for in-home support so seniors can stay home. Family members can often be that support.
Home costs less than a nursing home
Care at home is typically far less expensive than facility care. Paying a family caregiver is a win for the state and for your family.
The paperwork is the hard part
Most families give up in the forms. Approval is what Seva does every day, and we've helped hundreds of Georgia families through it.
Find out if you can get paid to care.
A few quick questions. A Seva intake specialist calls you within one business day to answer your questions and take it from there.
The questions everyone asks first.
Is this legit? It sounds too good to be true.
It's real, and it's a fair question. Georgia Medicaid funds in-home care for people who would otherwise need a nursing home, and in many cases that care can be provided by a family member. Seva is an enrolled Georgia Medicaid provider, family-run in metro Atlanta since 2017. We've helped hundreds of families get approved.
Why would the state pay me to care for my own family?
Because it's better for everyone. Care at home from someone your loved one already trusts usually costs far less than a nursing facility, and people tend to do better at home. Paying family caregivers keeps more seniors home.
How much will I get paid?
It depends on the program and your loved one's level of care needs, so we won't quote a number before we've talked. On your call, a coordinator will explain what applies to your situation.
What does it cost me?
Nothing. There's no fee to check eligibility, and no charge for our help getting you approved. Seva is paid through Georgia Medicaid as your provider.
My loved one isn't on Medicaid. Can I still apply?
Possibly. Many families start without Medicaid in place. Tell us your situation and we'll let you know whether applying makes sense and what's involved.
Do I need caregiving experience or a certification?
No. We handle it. Seva provides your training and gets you certified, and our team, including a nurse, supports you once you're enrolled.
Will this affect my loved one's Medicaid or other benefits?
No. Being paid as their caregiver is separate from their benefits and does not reduce or change them in any way.
How long does approval take?
Timelines vary by program and by how quickly the state processes paperwork. We'll give you a realistic picture on your first call and keep you updated the whole way.
What happens after I fill out the form?
A Seva intake specialist calls you within one business day. They'll walk you through the process and answer every question you have. If it looks like a fit, we start the paperwork for you. If it isn't, they'll point you toward other services that can help.
